# Example prompts

> Use Presston AI MCP for catalog, matching, billing, and first-party personal workflows.

These prompts give an MCP client enough direction to select the intended Boxpressd tools.

## Resolve imperfect text

```text theme={null}
Resolve “Alec Bradley Black Mary” against the Boxpressd catalog. Show up to five candidates and keep ambiguous variants separate.
```

Expected tool input:

```json theme={null}
{
  "query": "Alec Bradley Black Mary",
  "limit": 5
}
```

## Look up a box barcode

```text theme={null}
Look up UPC 012345678901 and list every cigar contained in the matching product. Do not assume a sampler contains only one cigar.
```

Expected tool input:

```json theme={null}
{ "barcode": "012345678901" }
```

## Identify a band

```text theme={null}
Identify the cigar from the attached band photo. Use the quick research profile. If you only have suggestions, ask me to confirm instead of selecting one.
```

Expected tool input:

```json theme={null}
{
  "imageUrl": "https://your-cdn.example/cigars/band-front.jpg",
  "researchMode": "auto",
  "researchProfile": "quick",
  "suggestionLimit": 5
}
```

## Check credits before a scan batch

```text theme={null}
Check the Boxpressd AI credit balance. If credits are available, tell me the balance and then wait before running any image tools.
```

The client should call `get_billing_status`, which is non-billable.

## Personal recommendation

The following example works only in a first-party client with delegated user authentication:

```text theme={null}
Choose three cigars from my humidors that pair with bourbon. Prefer cigars I rated highly and have not smoked in the last 30 days. Include the evidence behind each recommendation.
```

The agent can use humidor, smoking-history, recommendation, and pairing tools. It should report sample sizes and distinguish personal history from general pairing knowledge.
